Hello! My name is Ushio Louis Shinohara. I am currently a third year computer engineering student at Rutgers University New Brunswick. I am a self taught programmer who has actively been coding for a year now and I currently do alot of work in front end development but would like to work more in back end development. My career goal is to become a software engineer and I am currently searching for an internship in the software field for summer 2020. Feel free to check out my website which I coded without a template and some of my work. I can't wait to hear back from you!
Web Development
After being elected webmaster of my fraternity, I made the offer to redesign our old website and add more content. Using html 5, css 3, javascript and boostrap, I coded our fraternities website without using any templates. As my first web development project, it was challenging but google was my best friend and I am proud to have created a product which is the home page of my fraternity.

Time Tracker is the first Flutter app I have developed while following a course instructor. This app allows the user to create a job name and log the hours worked per job. I have created this app because I currently work two jobs and need to keep track of my hours worked so it does not exceed 40 hours in one work week.
This app uses firebase as the back end and allows Google, Facebook and Email authentication to create an account and log into the app. Each account is able to save it's content into the firestore database to be accessed at anytime.

ImageBlur was my final project for my first year of engineering coding class. I chose this project because I thought it would be cool to be able to have a project which I could share with a user and allow them to choose their own image and interact with it. The task was to take an image and create a user interface which allows the user to select how much blur the image would be altered by. In order to do this I separated the RGB colors of the image into a three dimensions matrix . Then by writing the code which iterated through each ‘pixel’ value and calculated the average of its neighbors, I reassigned that value into a new three dimensional matrix which allows for this image blurring program to function thus achieving the blur look.

After gaining interest in app development, I decided to pick up swift to create my own app. During the winter, I created my very own calculator app from scratch. Some of the major challenges I faced was taking the string value of a number and converting it into a float or integer. It was also difficult to work with decimal places as well as figuring out how to use the clear button. To adress the issue of converting the value from a string to an int or flow, I created an array which acted as a que. After the user had completed entering their number, that array would be combined and converted into a numerical value.

Game of Life mimics Cambridge’s mathematician John Conway’s one player ‘cellular automation’ simulation game. Depending on the initial conditions, the cells form various patterns throughout the course of the game.
The rules are each cell without any neighbors will die from solitude. Each cell with four or more neighbors die from overpopulation. For a space that is unpopulated, if it has three neighbors, it will become populated.
At the Kids International Weekend School of NJ, I was an assistant teacher and worked with kids from grades 1 to 3.
As a Dietary Aide Supervisor, I took on the role as a leader to assimilate new employees into the work environment.
As a ResNet Certified OIT Dispatch Consulant, my role is to go out into the field and assistant patrons in troubleshooting their technological devices.
As an intern at Cypher City, my role as the lead iOS developer is to take the flowchart provided by the CEO and create a working application.
As a mobile app developer for Enterprise Application Services, I am working in a team to develop software which will be used by all three Rutgers campuses.
I will be interning for the Optum division of United Health Group as a software developer for the summer!
